I am the personal brand hammer. I tend to be somewhat relentless about my goals. The way I learn about things is to talk about them with everyone. I test out ideas constantly. And if I think something works for me then I will often want you to benefit too. If you are working on your career and want to refine your message and your value - then I will remind you when you are off target. I will in essence hammer home the brand.
The concept of the "hammer" starts with a story about how I pounded out a sustainable solution to a programming problem that had eluded a much larger team. After working for months on a project, we were about to be shutdown unless we delivered. I gathered together a small "tiger" team and solved the problem in less than a week. I code named the project "Hammer Code". The name stuck and was actually used with the delivered code even years later.
